Trickster Cultural Center presents a special business launch & dinner for Native American Executive Chef, Jessica Pamonicutt, owner of Ketapanen Kitchen.
Jessica Pamonicutt (Oneyaw Neskehsak), is the Executive Chef & Owner of Ketapanen Kitchen. She currently owns the only Native American Catering Co. in the Chicagoland area. We are celebrating the launch of her newest business venture: Ketapanen Kitchen Pop-Up Kitchen. Jessica is a classically trained Chef, having studied at Le Cordon Bleu School of Culinary Arts. Jessica is an enrolled member of the Menominee Indian Tribe of Wisconsin but grew up in Chicago's Native community. Her Mother, Linda taught her to cook at a young age. Being an active community member, she always found herself helping out in the kitchen at gatherings. Her Mother taught her that food is the centerpiece of life. Whether it's a family dinner, a community gathering or ceremony... a shared meal brings people together. Jessica was taught to cook with love; putting prayers, good thoughts, and good feelings into every dish she prepares. It was from these teachings and philosophies that Ketapanen Kitchen was born. Ketapanen is an expression of love in the Menominee Language, which was fitting to use as the name of the kitchen.
Jessica's vision and mission is to bring Indigenous Cuisine to the forefront of Chicago’s culinary scene. Her menu will offer traditional Indigenous dishes, modern Indigenous dishes, and familiar dishes featuring Indigenous ingredients. Many people have no idea what Native American/Indigenous food is. They don’t realize how many of the foods in our current food chain are contributions from the Indigenous people of these lands. It is her dream to change that while providing amazing and health conscious food.
This event will be held at Trickster Cultural Center (190 S. Roselle Rd, Schaumburg, IL 60193) on November 20th at 6PM. Admission is $20 and will include a Menu Tasting Dinner featuring various dishes from her Pop-Up Kitchen menu, as well as live entertainment.
